Teenagers

I feel both admiration and pity for  the many teenagers who fill our life in this bright and yet dangerous century. Most of them have too much too soon but we handed them this affluent society, did we not?  One sociologist wrote of this age and called it a "sex-saturated, sex-obsessed and sex-sick society."   There they stand, well fed,  well dressed, with  just the right amount of vitamins and orange juice, picking at the crust of a world that will fill them with every kind of  junk food one could think.  They think  there is great abuse if they have not the finest of car, shoes, and parties.

These teens  are  victimized  by  forces  of  disorder  and  unrest.   They  are  seldom challenged  nor  pointed  in  the direction  of  real  spiritual  enterprise.  Their  families completely ignore the elders of the  church as well, and even more so, do they  ignore the preacher.   They  are  permitted  to  live  life  on   their  own  terms   with   their   own   philosophy.   They   bark  out  their  orders  in such tones that the parents tremble and wonder  if  they  will  really  bite.  They  are  viewing  a  world without any sense  or  direction,  and   without   any   discipline   or   restraint. Parents have become no more than check providers, party-throwers, and uncaring "wimps".

There is no easy solution to the teenager's  dilemma, but there is an  obvious answer or two! For one thing they need more honest truth and no more half-truth. They are in great need of more responsibility on their shoulders to keep their feet on the ground. They need a great amount of love and compassion to keep the heart aliened. It is long past time for parents  to wise  up,  face  up,  and pick  up  the tab. . .the tab of  maturity and  spiritual  perception on their part.

Teenagers, you  are a  vital  part  of this  world we live in, and of which has become a social club atmosphere, and of which we  as  adults  have  created, and  have  failed  to  give thought to spiritual guidance. What you, yes you, do with all these present day problems and on  going  temptations  only years will tell.  I wish for you to  know, and  know  for a  fact,  there are answers for all you must face. There  is help, lasting help  that is strong and sure! You can find the answers in the Bible, and the  help is  through  Christ  Jesus your Savior. Read, study such passages as follows:  (1 Pet.5:7)  (Heb.13:8) (Phil.4:13) (Rom.8:35-39). These  are just a few to  get you started.  Christ  loves you and will  never fail you!   "Hang  In  There".
