The Lord is Willing

One thing is made certain by God Almighty, and found in His word, and by our observing life; we are sinners.  The apostle Paul put it this way: all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” (Rom.3:23). If that was the only thing said about man, we would  be  put in a dark and gloomy state of mind, and there would be no hope for the  future  to  be  viewed.  However, our hearts glow with gladness as we note the Scriptures, “that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief”. (1 Tim.1:15). There are many places in the Bible stating that Christ is the Savior of the world! Not only do we notice that He is Savior, but He is willing to save everybody. Paul  reminds  us  again: “Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.” (1 Tim.2:4). We admit however, that those who will not be saved are those who are not willing to be submissive and obedient to the commands of Christ Jesus. (Matt.7:21).

Paul was inspired to write of both sin and salvation. “Faithful is the saying, and worthy  of  all  acceptation,  that  Christ    Jesus   came   into  the   world   to   save   sinners.” (1Tim.1:15). If  there is anything of  which  we  could welcome more than anything  else,  surely  it  would be  our  salvation from sin.  Not only is that true, but  it expresses  the full confidence that we now can have. Knowing that Christ never did  anything half way, therefore, He has made it very clear that “He is able also to save them completely that come to God by Him.” (Heb.7:25).  Look  at  the many Scriptures that tell us of His willingness. “For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which   was  lost.”   (Lk.19:10).     “I     came    not    to   call   the   righteous,   but   sinners   to   repentance.” (Lk.5:32).  “And  being  made perfect, he became the author of   eternal   salvation   unto   all   them   that   obey   him.” (Heb.5:9).“Search the Scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.” (Jno.5:39).  Friends, all of this is “written that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through His name.” (Jno.20:31).

With the knowledge we now have through the inspired word of God, we can be saved from all our past sin if we will only obey His commands of what to do to be saved! That means you must have faith in Christ as Savior, Repent of your sins and turn to Christ the Savior, be willing to confess your faith in Christ as Savior, and then you must complete your obedience by being baptized into Christ for the remission of your sins. Believe me, the Lord is willing to forgive!
