Which One Will You Follow

It is amazing how people will labor hard to believe a lie, or that which is not truth, rather than believing the truth of the matter. It might be because of selfishness or prejudice or a number of other things. Nevertheless, it is done, and all too often. Jesus said upon one occasion, “Ye are of your father, the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.” (Jno.8:44-45). There were some then and many today determined in their opposition to Him and so prejudiced against His message that they refuse to give His words a fair hearing. As a result, Jesus points out that they are of the devil. By this He means they are imitating the devil in their thoughts, actions, and teachings. It is clear from the passage just cited that the devil cares nothing for man’s life either physical or spiritual. His whole nature of work is to destroy, and that is a well known fact. Which one will you follow?

All we know about love, grace and mercy comes from God. All lies, all deceit, and all sin comes from the devil, never from God. Therefore, there is no middle ground; you are with God or you are with the evil one. It is either one or the other. Friends, of a truth I now speak, anyone who will teach any matter that is contrary to God’s inspired word speaks by the one who is of darkness, the devil. Now, we say, those who teach that one church is just as good as another, teaches a message coming from the evil one. Why is that so, you ask? Because they are “teaching for doctrines the commandments of men,” that is why. (Matt.15:9). Those who are teaching that some man (like the pope) is the vicar of Christ  has spoken by the very same evil authority, and you will remember that he is a liar and the father of such. Also, the teachers who teach that one can be saved from their sins and never be a member of the Lord’s church has been influenced, and deceived by the devil, and as a result, is speaking that which is untrue. Why would I say  such?  Because  of  what  God  Himself  said!  Those  who  were saved by their obedience to the Gospel preached by the apostles in Acts two were “Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.” (Acts 2:47). Friends, which one will you follow? I don’t believe you wish to follow after the doctrines of men when your eternal destination is at stake. Joshua of  long ago urged the people to make up their minds as to Which One They Would Follow.  (Josh.24:15).
