Faith is the Victory
The people of Israel were being led by the LORD God from the bondage of Egypt unto the land of their fathers; unto the land of promise. Moses was the chosen one of God to lead these people. Although he was a man of meekness, he nevertheless had to be, and was often instructed in what was to be done, and who was in charge. Therefore, we read, “And the LORD said unto Moses, Is the LORD’S hand waxed short? Thou shalt see now whether my word shall come to pass unto thee or not.” (Num.11:23).
In all this we see that even the meekest of God’s servants must be reminded that God’s word and God’s purpose will be accomplished. Could not the Almighty God, the possessor of heaven and earth, the Creator of the ends of the earth; could not He provide every need for His people? The strength of our faith is to forever be strong in God and feast upon His blessed promises. Here, however, we find ourselves all too often failing. Faith, I think, not only brings God into the scene, but keeps Him there, when our life finds difficulties to be faced. By the Scriptures, and by life, our faith is built and stands sure and steadfast. We find then, God is the grand answer to every question, the grand solution of every difficulty! By that faith it refers all to Him, and it matters not how many difficulties arise, nor how fierce they may be. Distrust and unbelief says, “How can such and such thing be?” It is full of doubts and “Hows”. Nevertheless, faith has one great answer to the ten thousand “”Hows”. . . that answer is GOD!!
It is well for all of God’s people to bear this ever in mind. For sure, it will sustain the humble heart and give constant freshness to our daily service. In fact, the servant who abides by the instructions of the Scriptures, and cast his dependence upon the Almighty, will never be barren nor unfruitful. “For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (2 Pet.1:8). On the other hand, if a man is drawing upon his own resources, he will soon run dry; and it matters not what his abilities may be, if he fails to draw from the refreshing spring of Holy Writ, he will lose his effectiveness by placing the “bushel” of selfishness over the way of righteousness. Result? Faith is smothered, and God cannot be pleased. (Heb.11:6). Help us to forever keep in mind that “faith is the substance (assurance) of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” (Heb.11:1) Friends, let us sing again: “Faith Is The Victory”!!!
